nib BLUES SET FOR SUPER RUGBY AUPIKI FINAL

The nib Blues have named a powerful side to take on Matatū in the 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki Final in Christchurch on Saturday.

After securing a hard-fought victory over the same opposition in Round 6 last weekend, the Blues head south hunting another Aupiki title, making just two changes to the game day 23.

Loose forward Danny-Elle Fesolai returns to the starting side at openside flanker, while experienced forward Tafito Lafaele will provide impact off the bench.

Head coach Willie Walker said his side was excited for another chance to compete for the Aupiki trophy.

“We’ve got a great group of players and some have been together now for several years. To be here for a third year is really humbling and we are excited for the opportunity,” he said.

“Anything can happen in finals footy. We know we need to be at our best, at that’s what we will get from Matatū as well. We’re ready to go out there with clear intent and want to make our fans and supporters proud. It’s going to be a great game.”
