Taufa Bason returns to the Blues as one of New Zealand's most promising young outside backs, bringing speed, power and versatility to the squad.

A product of Auckland rugby, Bason first represented the Blues at age-grade level before making her mark with the Auckland Storm in the Farah Palmer Cup. She has built a reputation as a strong ball carrier with the ability to break tackles and create opportunities in space.

Her impressive domestic form earned national recognition through New Zealand Rugby development programmes, highlighting her potential as a player capable of making an impact at the highest level. Known for her athleticism, work rate and willingness to compete in all facets of the game, Bason continues to develop into a complete outside back.

Bason adds valuable depth and excitement as she looks to establish herself in Super Rugby Aupiki. With her explosive running game and attacking instincts, she is well placed to play an influential role throughout the 2026 campaign.
