Mason Tupaea is a dynamic young prop forward who combines raw strength with a growing technical skillset at scrum time.  
 
He attended Hamilton Boys’ High School, and earned selection for the New Zealand Under 18 team in 2020. 
 
Tupaea was part of the Blues Under 20 squad in 2022, continuing his development within the Blues system before stepping up to provincial level. 
 
He made his debut for Waikato in the 2023 Bunnings NPC and quickly established himself as a key member of their forward pack. Tupaea capped a strong 2024 NPC campaign by scoring a try in the semi-final against Wellington, showcasing his ability to make an impact in big moments. 
 
Mason made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in May 2024, coming off the bench against the Highlanders at Eden Park.  
 
His physical presence, work ethic, and commitment to improvement have marked him as a prop to watch in the coming seasons.
