Maama, a star volleyball player, was a late arrival to the rugby scene. But this lady has ‘hops’ making her an exciting young lock to keep an eye on.  

It was a breakthrough season in 2022 for Maama who started most games at lock for the Auckland Storm.  

She got her first taste of nib Blues rugby in 2023 and was a dominant force in the nib Blues lineout.  

No longer able to hide behind her rookie tag, Vaipulu will be on the radar of opposition teams in 2024 and will be looking to continue her upward trajectory in the 15-player code.

As a rookie she will be looking to getting her first nib Blues Super Rugby Aupiki cap in 2023 and is shaping as an exciting new addition to this nib Blues Squad.
