Prop Jordan Lay, a Samoan international and sibling of Blues brother James Lay joined the Blues in 2022.

Jordy, along with his brother James was born in Samoa and moved to Auckland when he was just three years old. The pair grew up at the same schools, culminating at Kings’ College where they presented a formidable front-row pairing in the First XV.

Out of school Jordan headed south to the Bay of Plenty, before venturing to the UK in 2018 for stints at Edinburgh and Bristol. He was selected to play for Manu Samoa at the 2019 Rugby World Cup and has earned 24 caps for his home nation (at time of writing).

Jordy’s career has now gone full circle, he’s back living in Auckland and playing with his bother! The pair of Lays adding depth to the Blues propping stocks for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season.
