Braxton Sorensen-McGee has quickly emerged as one of New Zealand's most exciting young midfield talents, earning her place in the Blues through a combination of athleticism, skill and consistency.

A standout performer for the Auckland Storm in the Farah Palmer Cup, Sorensen-McGee is a powerful and intelligent midfielder capable of creating opportunities on both sides of the ball. Equally effective with ball in hand or in defence, she combines strong footwork, physicality and game awareness to make an impact across the park.

Her performances at provincial level have seen her recognised through New Zealand Rugby's high-performance pathways, reflecting her potential to become a key figure in the game. Committed to continual improvement, Sorensen-McGee has developed a reputation for her professionalism, work ethic and competitive mindset.

Now part of the Blues squad, Sorensen-McGee adds quality and depth to the backline as she continues her development in Super Rugby Aupiki.

Remember the name Braxton Sorensen-McGee.  

 

Sorensen-McGee is a fullback who despite her age is someone rising quickly in the rugby ranks. 

Still just a teenager, she has two seasons for Auckland in the Farah Palmer Cup under her belt, named ‘Rookie of the Year’ in her debut season in 2023. 

 

She represented Auckland while still at Auckland Girls Grammar School where she was a fixture in both the AGGS 1st XV and Sevens teams. 

 

Braxton joins the nib Blues for her first season of Super Rugby Aupiki.
