There is a triple treat for rugby fans when Trans-Tasman rugby returns to Eden Park next weekend.

The Sky Super Rugby Trans-Tasman kicks off with the Blues hosting the exciting young Waratahs line-up on Saturday 22 May.

To spice up the rugby rivalry across the Tasman, the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens will take on their Australian counterparts, playing two games each at the Garden of Eden.

“We are really excited at what is going to be an amazing few hours of outstanding rugby action for our fans,” said Blues Chief Executive, Andrew Hore.

“There a real vibe around the return of the Trans-Tasman rugby rivalry, and everyone has been commenting on the exciting brand of rugby that has been on show in Australia’s Super Rugby competition.

“We are only around 12 weeks out from the Sevens competition at the Tokyo Olympics, and we are thrilled to be able to host two of the leading Sevens nations, who will be in contention for medals, having their last public matches in New Zealand before their Tokyo campaign.”

The Black Ferns Sevens and Australia women will kick things off at 3pm on Saturday followed by the All Blacks Sevens before fans enjoy the first-round clash in Sky Super Rugby Trans-Tasman between the Blues and Waratahs kicking off at 4.35pm. The Sevens return to the field for a further round of games with the women at 6.40pm and men at 7.03pm to complete a special afternoon of great rugby action.

The Blues are again opening their gates at Eden Park for families with children free if accompanied by a General Admission ticketholder, with GA tickets for as little as $20.
