BLUES BOLSTER BACKLINE WITH LANCASTER SIGNING

The Blues have bolstered their outside back stocks, securing exciting Australian winger Darby Lancaster ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 23-year-old joins the club with a growing reputation as a game breaker, bringing raw speed and an impressive aerial presence.

Lancaster said the opportunity to join the Blues was one he was excited to embrace.

“The Blues are a club with a huge amount of history and ambition, and I’m really looking forward to being part of that environment,” he said.

“There’s a lot of talent in the squad and some world-class coaches and players to learn from. I pride myself on competing hard in every area of the game, and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Blues GM Rugby Murray Williams said Lancaster’s skillset and character made him a great fit for the club.

“Darby is an explosive athlete with speed and aerial skills, but what stands out just as much is his competitiveness and approach to the game,” he said.

Lancaster has most recently played for the Western Force but missed the majority of 2026 through injury.

He will link up with the Blues later in the year ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
