Blues Alumni

The Blues Alumni are an important part of the Blues Club, providing continuity, connection, and support across generations. Their legacy forms the foundation of the club’s identity today, and they continue to contribute through leadership, community involvement, and ongoing engagement. The group is led by Rugby Legends John Afoa and Eloise Blackwell.

Each year, the Blues Alumni host a series of events that bring former players together, celebrate shared history, and strengthen ties with the wider Blues community. These gatherings help support current Blues initiatives, foster relationships among past players, and keep the club’s traditions alive.

Blues Hall of Fame

The Blues Hall of Fame brings together former and current players and staff, partners and special guests to honour the Hall of Fame inductees for their contribution to the Blues Club. Launched in 2026, the Blues Hall of Fame will be a regular fixture on the Blues Calendar.

Funds raised through the event’s raffle and auction goes towards supporting The Blues Charitable Trust (BCT), a youth development charity on a mission to help rangatahi (young people) make good choices for great lives.

Alumni Golf Day

The Barfoot & Thompson Alumni Golf Day is a much-anticipated annual event. Golf teams enjoy an unforgettable day connecting with current and previous Blues playing squad, all while getting in 18 holes.

The fundraising efforts from the day play an important role in supporting former players and special causes.

Legends Rugby Game

The Blues Alumni and SouthSeas Healthcare Pacific Legends dusted off their boots for the ultimate curtain raiser match. Raising awareness and championing Men’s health and wellbeing, the teams squared off ahead of the Blues v Hurricanes match at Eden Park.
