Lock Josh Beehre is one of the great success stories of the Blues development pathway, progressing through the club’s Under-18 and Under-20 programmes before earning a National Development Contract in 2023 and a full contract the following year.
Beehre enjoyed a breakout Super Rugby Pacific campaign in 2024, making 12 appearances in his debut season. He announced himself in style, starting in the opening-round clash against the Fijian Drua in his hometown of Whangārei after captain Patrick Tuipulotu was sidelined through injury.
A powerful and athletic lock, Beehre brings energy and physicality to the Blues forward pack, combining strong lineout ability with an impressive work rate around the field.
Now well established within the squad, Beehre continues to build his game under the guidance of senior leaders in the Blues engine room.
He is contracted with the Blues through until the end of the 2027 season.
