Caleb Clarke, a former Mt Albert Grammar 1st XV star and Auckland schools sprint champion, is well known to Blues fans not only for his electric pace and skill but also as the son of Blues and All Black great Eroni Clarke.
Clarke represented New Zealand at secondary school level in 2016 and 2017 and featured in the World Rugby Junior World Championship, winning the 2017 edition in Georgia and playing again in 2018.
He made his NPC debut for Auckland at just 18 years old and quickly progressed through the Blues age-group system, earning a full team debut against the Waratahs in 2018 after contributing to the title-winning Brisbane 10s squad.
After a stint pursuing sevens and Olympic aspirations, Clarke returned to the Blues and Super Rugby Aotearoa, making an immediate impact with memorable tries and consistent attacking threat. His strong Super Rugby form translated to the international stage, earning him his All Blacks debut and a starting spot at Eden Park shortly after.
Clarke has been a key figure for the Blues on the wing, known for his explosive running, line-breaking ability, and try-scoring prowess. In 2024, he delivered one of his best seasons, scoring 10 tries and leading the team in metres gained (1220) and clean breaks (22).
A dynamic and experienced presence in the back three, Clarke continues to be a cornerstone of the Blues attack and a player with game changing ability.
He is contracted with the Blues through until the end of the 2027 season.
