Sylvia played in the inaugural Blues Super Rugby game in 2021 putting her name on the map as a 17-year-old star scoring a superb try in match.  

She earned her first Black Ferns cap in 2022 and went on to be selected for the Black Ferns Rugby World Cup squad where she was nominated for World Rugby Try of the Year.  

Brunt didn’t rest on her laurels in 2023, she stamped her mark on the Aupiki competition for the nib Blues and made the no. 12 jersey her own in the Black Ferns. 

An aggressive defender, Brunt can put a shot on in the backline and will no doubt be lining up attackers in the 2024 edition of Sky Super Rugby Aupiki.
